Great American Beer Festival...image loading El Paso captured a permanent home on the world's brewing map when Jaxon's Restaurant and Brewing Company won the Gold Medal for American Brown Ale at the 16th Annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver.
Jaxon's beat out 47 other microbrewed brown ales including some nationally distributed brands.
It was the only gold medal awarded in Texas (out of 21 competing Texas breweries) and in the Southwest U. S. (among 21 Texas, 5 New Mexico and 6 Arizona breweries).
